LCO: New Music Commissioning Fund

Help us create the music of tomorrow

The LCO Commissioning Fund supports Logan City Orchestras in commissioning and presenting new Australian orchestral music.

Through the Fund, composers are engaged to create original works that reflect our people, our place and the stories of our community. These works are then developed, rehearsed and premiered by Logan City Orchestras, giving audiences the opportunity to experience new music for the first time.

Why commissioning matters

Every great orchestral work began as a new idea.

Commissioning allows us to:

support Australian composers and creative artists;

create new orchestral music connected to Logan and its communities;

provide musicians with opportunities to develop and perform new repertoire;

present world premieres for local audiences;

build a lasting musical legacy for future performers and communities.

Where your donation goes

Donations to the LCO Commissioning Fund support

composer commissioning fees;

development workshops and orchestral readings;

preparation of scores and performance materials;

rehearsals and premiere performances;

recording and documentation of new works;

community, education and audience-engagement activities connected to the commission.

Each commission will proceed subject to the funding required for the project being secured.
